For ONE NIGHT ONLY, So Keen Productions presents Jess Brien, as Coriander!

XCHC Exchange Christchurch

Tickets are $10 at the door!

Coriander (you can call her Randi for short!) invites you to join her for an hour of spiritual enlightenment and a journey like no other with her very special yoga(ish) show.

Coriander has been found guiding students through their Randi yoga(ish) practises at The Old 505 Theatre (Sydney Fringe Festival), The Common Room (Fringe in the Stings), BATS Theatre (Wellington), The World Buskers Festival (Christchurch), and CupaDupa (Wellington) - with the spiritual highlight being Venice Beach (Los Angeles). She knows her heart chakra from her third eye and her favourite yoga(ish) pose would have to be the cat and cow sequence, “but you, like, really have to connect with the animals by mooing and meowing…”

All levels welcome, in fact, the less you know about yoga the better! Featuring Jess Brien.

"From start to finish, Brien engages her audience with consummate ease in what is a highly innovative and original show." - The Dominion Post

"I literally had to massage my cheeks from laughing so hard!" - A Real Life Yoga Teacher

Written and Performed by real-life yoga instructor Jess Brien. Directed by Imogen 'I-once-thought-downward-facing-dog-was-a-sex-position' Prossor.

With over twenty years of professional experience in the performing arts, throughout her career whilst following her various creative endeavours, Soseh has primarily developed a strong teaching base working as a director, acting lecturer and private acting consultant for performing arts institutions and elite talent agencies both in Australia and overseas.

Soseh is a graduate from the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art in Sydney with an Advanced Diploma in Arts (Acting) and a Bachelor of Performance. In 2005 she was invited to the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in New York, where she completed the 2-Year Professional Conservatory Acting Program in Practical Aesthetics.

Returning to Australia and fostering her passion for the performing arts, in 2012 she was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship to embark on a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Perth. Her practice-led research titled, Creatively Pursuing Persona: Finding Identity through Directing, investigated how theatre directing and the performing arts could provide a culturally displaced individual with a sense of identity and belonging. Her study, which resulted in an exegesis and two components of an original creative work, specifically provided new insights into how theatre directing allows an individual to (re)discover their identity through leadership in a non-judgmental forum and how the theatre as a space for communal exchanges and conversations can initiate dialogue about cultural differences.

In 2016, as a result of her specialisation and contribution to the field of performing arts and directing, Soseh was awarded a fellowship by the National Academy of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) for their inaugural MFA in Cultural Leadership. Soseh is currently the Head of Acting at the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art (NASDA) in Christchurch, New Zealand.
